There’s a new kind of treasure hunt taking over the Isle of Wight, and it fits right in your pocket.

Today, we unveil the Follies Collectable Cards, a series of beautifully designed, 7 x 10 cm cards awarded by local businesses as part of the Isle of Wight Follies game. Each card celebrates a mythical creature and a real island location, blending legendary lore with a dose of local fun.
What Makes These Collectable Cards Special?
Locally Awarded: You can’t buy these cards—you earn them by exploring, scanning, and engaging with island businesses in the Follies game.
44 Unique Designs: There’s a card for each location and creature, from the Griffin of Cowes to the Dragon of Newport. Every business has its own “in the wild” version.
Rare and Not-So-Rare: Some cards are super rare, others you’ll find cropping up everywhere. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a limited edition card designed just for special events or secret quests.
Each Card, a Story: Flip a card and you’ll find a fun quote or fact relating to the business. The local café’s card may have a griffin’s review of their cakes; the kayak hire’s dragon might complain about soggy wings.

How Do You Get a Card?
Visit a participating business.
Scan the Follies code at their location.
Follow the instructions and, if you’re a Game Pass holder, you collect your reward.
It’s that simple. Every card collected is another memory, another story, another adventure logged in your Follies Quest.
Want to See More Cards?
We’ll be revealing new designs and rare variants as the summer unfolds. Share your favourite finds, trade with friends, attach to your Quest Log, and keep an eye out for the elusive “evidence bag” drops, if you know, you know.
How Can You Help?
If you have a favourite café, shop, or secret island haunt, tell them about the Follies. The more businesses involved, the more stories we can all collect, and the richer the island becomes for everyone.
If you spot a card in the wild, tag us and share your adventure. Who knows, your business, your story, or your creature might just become the next island legend.
Ready to hunt? The mythos is out there, and your proof is your card collection, so go find them!
